Mt Palomar Trip July

Our next trip will be to the fabulous Mt. Palomar Observatory. We will be invading the Fry Creek camp ground...as it is really small, I will need a head count asap so I can secure the right number of sites!!!

Camp details: grocery store nearby, pets on leashes ok! toilets and the usual or at least that is what the book says

trip notes: Elevation 5,200 ft..on a clear night we should be able to see forever, literally! We will be near the Palomar Observatory Home of the largest telescope in america!! It is described as a forested area with a stream near by!

Directions: Take the 15 south to the 76 east and drive about 20 miles to county road S6 (goes up to Palomar). Turn left ( north) and drive about 9 miles to the campground entrance on left.

I will plan on having the site from thursday to sunday please come anytime

post june trip/ pre july trip

Well we are back and re-adjusting to life in the big city. Our trip into the Angeles Crest was a great success, we had the whole camp ground to ourselves and boy was it sweet. hopefully photos will be posted to the flicker site soon.

We were visited by a herd of mule deer on our second night. We won't discuss about how I thought it was a bear and didn't let greg sleep for the rest of the night....hehehehehehe.

Tom, Cris, Noah and Desi did some treking on the Pacific Crest Trail. Pretty impressive, this trail runs from Mexico to Canada. Boy did they come back tired and hungry!!!!!

the topper for this trip was our fabulous Ranger J.R. and his dog chicknick...may they all be as cool as him.
